Poet and academic Prof Alan Bleakley will be reading from his 2025 collection The Cost of Living this December in St Ives, Cornwall.
Alan will be appearing at the celebrated New Craftsman Gallery in St Ives on Saturday 20th December 2025 from 3-5pm and shall be reading poems from his 2025 Artel Press title The Cost of Living which is co-authored with acclaimed Canadian writer Shane Neilson.
The reading coincides with a new exhibition of paintings by his wife Susan Bleakley NSA whose show When the Veil Drops runs at New Craftsman from 29 Nov – 19 Dec 2025.
The Artel Press is grateful for Susan’s permission to reproduce her 2025 painting Uncharted Territory in the endpapers of The Cost of Living.
Poetry lovers will enjoy Alan’s wonderful reading style, his warmth and sensitive delivery of the texts, beautifully evoking the Cornish landscape so powerfully featured in this collection.
