EVENT: Ledbury book launch 23.10.21

Join us for a lunchtime event in Ledbury on Saturday 23rd October 2021 for poems and conversation inspired by ‘Soil’, an outstanding debut poetry collection to be published this autumn by The Artel Press.

Come and meet its author Catherine Swire at The Barrett Browning Institute, home of the Ledbury Poetry Festival, for a selection of readings from Soil plus contributions from artists and friends and discussion with John Elcock of Liverpool-based The Artel Press.

Soil is a profound exploration in poetry and prose of eight locations across the Worcestershire-Herefordshire border, conceived as a series of walks and beautifully illustrated by Russian artist Marina Kolchanova.

Swire’s poetry however reveals a deeper purpose, seeking to understand absence and the effects of trauma through careful reading of the landscape.

Admission is free and refreshments will be provided. All are welcome.

For everyone’s safety space in the venue is limited so please arrive in good time to avoid disappointment.
