Our latest title ‘A Hidden Home in the Gwydyr Forest‘ by author Janet Corke and published by The Artel Press will be available at the 2019 National Eisteddfod.

Published in Summer 2019, the book recounts the true story of a young couple from 1960s’ Liverpool who set-out to rescue an abandoned cottage in their dream of creating a unique family home.

The title is to be included in the stand of the Welsh Books Council who once again will be at the Eisteddfod to promote the very best new literature in Wales.

The Eisteddfod site for 2019 will be in the hometown of Llanrwst-born author Janet Corke, whose memoir paints a vivid picture of the remote Gwydyr Forest not far from the historic market town in the Conwy Valley.

And in a fitting link to the Eisteddfod, Janet Corke’s remarkable story reveals a surprising link to the past in the family’s discovery that their cottage at Ty’n-yr-ardd was once the home of Trebor Mai (1830 -1877), the celebrated Welsh language poet and bard.

The 2019 Conwy County Eisteddfod will be held from 3 – 10 August in Llanrwst. For tickets and information visit www.eisteddfod.wales
