On Sunday 16th October 2022 The Artel Press joined with poet Jamie Finfer at the London Book Barge for the launch of his new title In Foro.
We were joined by scores of family, friends and readers on the Regent’s Canal for an afternoon of readings, conversation and music. Thank you to everyone who participated.
Artel Press editor John read the Dread Paralysis of Jurgurtha to the audience and in a conversation with Jamie introduced this wonderful first collection to the crowd. Jamie explained his use of anachronistic vocabularly, source of historical figures and experience of travel which underpin many of the works in In Foro.
Jamie wrapped up the event with a shared reading of Vae Victus and audience members were invited to take home a specially printed copy of this poem as a keepsake for an important afternoon celebrating poetry, fellowship and the spoken word.
